COACHING - Season 2010 (last updated 15/01/10)
Murdoch is pleased to announce its coaching staff for season 2010:
First Team
The first team will be coached by James (Jim) Bryden and assisting him will be Danny Jones.
Jim takes on the job after a long and decorated career as a player and a coach. Jim has played both amateur and state level soccer throughout Australia and his coaching experience includes amateur and state league clubs in Australia, plus the Indonesia National Youth Team. Jim was previously involved with Murdoch during the club’s rise to premier league status and he goes by the nickname ‘Jinky’ as a reflection of his silky soccer skills.
Danny Jones has spent plenty of time playing in the semi-professional leagues and has spent more seasons winning silverware than not. Danny Jones joined Murdoch in 2006 and has been an integral member of the club, both on and off the field. Danny is looking forward to working with Jim and said that he wants “ the club to start fulfilling its potential and for its players to appreciate the level of commitment to each other we need to show in order to achieve our ambitions.”
Reserve Team
The reserve team will be coached by Ezio Celenza who agreed to take over the role after two seasons as a player-coach with Meville City Soccer Club’s masters team.
Like Jim, Ezio was involved with Murdoch during its twilight years and the pacy striker has built a reputation of being able to score goals from seemingly impossible angles. Ezio is looking forward to working with Jim and Danny and is determined to see the reserve team win some silverware this season.
The committee is excited about the coaching appointments and is looking forward to a successful 2010 campaign.
Off-season training (last updated 15/01/10)
Off-season training has continued every Thursday night since November 2009 and the club has seen a great number of new faces who have brought pace and skill to the sessions. Thursday night sessions will continue until the commencement of pre-season training so there is still a couple of weeks for you to get down and shake off the cobwebs and the christmas weight.
The session run from 7.30pm and go anywhere between 1 - 2 hours. The bar will be opened afterwards.
We welcome anyone who is interested to attend.
